There are many different privacy issues that arise from data mining. Privacy issues are gennerally seen by the public as to be extremly important. Privacy issues can range from companies tracking your information to leaks of this data. Companies tracking all your data is seen as a breach of privacy and many indivduals do not wish to have their data mined. Another major privacy issue that arises through data mining is the fact that companies who mine your data may have security breaches and these can lead to individuals data being available to people they do not want it available to. There are many social issues involved with data mining.




Legal Issues

There are many different legal issues that arise from data mining. The first legal issue that arises from data mining is privacy of the indivdual. Many countries have rules that limit the information that companies can obtain from individuals without prior consent. Data mining generally doesn't have a consent form and as such means that privacy laws are breached. This is gennerally skirted by many companies who will set up in countries with little to no privacy laws and as such are able to track all your data without the threat of the law. Another problem is with companies that may sell your data without your consent.




Ways to reduce issues with data mining are



There are multiple ways that you can reduce your susceptability to issues that arise from data mining. One stratagy is to install an extension that asks websites to not track you such as Do not track and an adblocker such as UBlock Origin so that you don't get ads which are able to track you.
